The Shasta Lake Fire District wants to remind property owners that it is imperative they provide a defensible space of at least 100 feet. This means that dry grass and brush should be cut back at least 100 feet from your home. This will provide a buffer if a wildfire should occur in your area. It will also give Firefighters a much better chance of saving your home if the unforeseen is to happen.
