The Shasta Lake Fire Protection District has three stations, with the main station being staffed full time and the remaining two staffed by volunteers. The District serves the City of Shasta Lake. The full-time staffing consists of one Fire Chief, two Battalion Chiefs, three Captains, and three Engineers with one Captain and Engineer on each shift. Shifts are 48/96 schedule and the administrative staff works a 40 hour week. The District runs over 1350 calls per year, 85% medical, 12% fire, and the remaining 3% other. The District maintains an ISO rating of 4, and has one of the lowest losses per incident ratios in the North State. The District has a very aggressive volunteer program with a roster of 18 active volunteers.
